☼ Grow A Gnome Home
By DestinybyDefinition
I wanted to share my gnome home since it's spring and if you're anything like me, you love unique ideas for potting and planting. I love miniatures so this came as a super~exciting idea to me. I had these cute little gnome dudes in my flower pots inside the house.
My husband recently got into woodwork, and I had him build me the flower box and the little 'house' (a bird house would likely work just as well). I gorilla-glued the rocks and got the shingles from a sample book (they give them to you at reno stores if you pretend you're interested in reshingling your house XD)
Most of the moss is from beneath my deck, and the plants are all miniature, low~growing varieties. I already had the fountain, though it looked pretty pathetic before when it sat on my kitchen counter!
And the 'stepping stones' are made from clay I dug up in the yard and shaped into flat rocks.
If you are thinking of giving this a try, a great plant (I find) is Basil. I think the specific variety is a bonzai basil plant, which you can trim and 'train' to look like a mini~tree. Moss grows in a ton of varieties and is free if you're willing to find it. It's usually hiding on the underside of a ledge near an open part of bush, but you can find it almost anywhere. I also used baby's breathe in a few different colors, they are adorable little mini's!
Ah Spring! Get out there and plant something!

I've been doing heavy-duty noble peasant type yardwork this week, trying to reclaim my yard from the wasteland winter makes of it. Your little Gnome-ville has inspired me to remember to have with it I'm thinking dinosaurs.
