I like to try my hand at making things myself. I like the satisfaction that comes from knowing I did it myself. It is also an enjoyable constructive activity to do in my free time. And sometimes, I see something I like at the store, but I may think it's an easy concept and an expensive item, so I try to do it myself to save money, instead of supporting the store.

Things I like to do:

fixing up old/ second hand/ or someone else's trash furniture (like the TV show on HGTV the Junk Brothers)
Interior Decorating
watching HGTV, DIY or Discovery Home, or any Discovery Channel for that matter
Spending Time in Nature (sometimes that inspires my work)
Pottery

Be with my Beagles and other pets

I was a biology major at Franklin College in Indiana, graduated in 2007. I work for the IN Dept. of Natural Resources as a park naturalist, which means I basically educate others on nature. After I finish this job, I have a few more small part time jobs, then it's off to grad. school. I love the great outdoors/ the environment and that has inspired my career path. I am currently doing an internship working with a naturalist at a state park. I love art though as well and if I had time to be a double major that would have been it. For now though art is my hobby. It's basically all that I do when I am not thinking biology.

I also love to go to concerts. I love punk/ska/neo-swing bands as well as bands from many other genres including progressive, alternative and oldies. However ska/ska-punk is my favorite of all types of music. I love to hang out at the Ottobar and the Recher for concerts.
