On my bureau is a woven basket that might be Southwest Indian, or Filipino, or (who knows?), a large round strangely olive colored candle that has become a beautifully glowing globe as it burns down, an ivory or oxbone netsuke of a man holding a carp in both arms, a mille fiore style globular candle in purple and red, a dotted cranberry 7-inch candlestick with a striped purple snake wound around it. The snake's head sticks up higher than the candlestick and surveys my home with a goofy expression. Each object was found separately at different times in thrift stores. I find the combination very aesthetically satisfying.
